This shall ultimately lead the learning experience as an aid to life. This is done in a prepared and nurturing environment, which includes a trained teacher who is called a "guide". The guide will observe each child and guide each child with the help of one or two assistants. Included activities are Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Botany, Geography, Science, Art, Music, Spanish and much more.
Our prepared environment responds to the child's sensitive periods in order to blossom to the fullest potential possible. Learning occurs naturally and joyfully at the proper moment for each child.
Twin Oaks Montessori cultivates the child's natural spontaneity of learning and bring the child to the fullest possible realization of his/her individual potentialities. Dr. Maria Montessori observed the importance of birth to 6 years of age. This time period that she refers to as the "Absorbent Mind" is the most important and critical years of learning. The second half of that time period from 3 to 6 years is especially crucial. At Twin Oaks we believe that your child's success is our success. Our prepared environment along with a trained guide allows each child to discover, experience, learn and develop according to his/her own pace.
Twin Oaks Children's Montessori director with over 28 years of Montessori education experience, being a pianist and a composer herself, believes in the importance of offering music to the very young child. Therefore, music is an important part of our environment and has incorporated a variety of music activities to instill music appreciation among our children.
